I am one of those people that gets bored with their home decor very easily and I’m always wanting to change things and experiment with new styles. It’s been a couple of years now since the last time we decorated our living room so I felt like it was time for a change.
This isn’t going to be a quick refresh, this is a complete makeover. I think the only things that are staying are the blinds and the carpet!
We have already ordered a new sofa from DFS (below) but everything else is just ideas at this stage.
Our living room at the moment is decorated grey, black and white and I’m desperate to inject some colour into it. It’s a really dark room that doesn’t get a lot of light so I’m also conscious of keeping things as light and bright as possible.
There is a corner of our living room that is currently just a mountain of kids toys and I’m fed up of it, so I’m moving all toys upstairs to their bedrooms. They tend to just play in their rooms anyway these days and it means we’ll be able to keep the living room nice and tidy (hopefully!).
So I’ve been stalking Pinterest for ideas and inspiration and here is what I’ve come up with…
What do you think? How is your living room decorated?
Thanks for reading.
Love Pinterest for ideas – I could spend hours on it!
Me too! X x
I like this look. very clean and simple 🙂 More room for baby toys that way haha #fortheloveofBLOG
Haha I’m hoping to move all the kids toys up their bedrooms, we’ll see how long that lasts! x
I’m loving the colour scheme! Thanks for linking up to #JustAnotherLinky xx
Thank you 🙂 x
Ooh I love it! It’s quite a retro look you’re going for, which is pretty fashionable at the moment. It looks like the room would be completely transformed, making it a child free haven for you (I wish for that). I’m with you on dark rooms, our living room is in the basement of our flat and it is pretty dark, I’ve injected colour by adding yellow cushions, lamps and vases which work wonderfully against the grey walls. The sofa looks gorgeous by the way, looking forward to seeing how the room turned out. Thanks so much for linking up a second post this week at #fortheloveofBLOG. Claire x
We’re making a start on it now, can’t wait for it all to be finished x
Just read your living room post and I love all these ideas, funnily enough I just bought a clock like the copper one from Made! xx #HomeEtc

I love the copper touches — still such a strong trend and really lifts a room. It’s always lovely to see metallics being used in interiors 🙂 Thanks so much for linking up lovely! Caro xx #HomeEtc
Hi Emma – Looks like it’s coming together really well! I love the textures you’ve chosen paired with the metallic copper. Very on trend; a cute mix of retro and Scandinavian 🙂
