As far as master bedrooms go, ours is pretty tiny. But it’s big enough for a king size bed, a chest of drawers and we’ve managed to squeeze in bedside tables too, so I can’t complain. And of course it has a beautiful bay window! It’s probably my favourite room is the house. It’s so bright and cosy, it definitely has a good feel to it.
Below are some of my ideas for the room. So far we have replastered, had a new radiator fitted and put our new bedside tables and lamps in, but that’s about it.
So as I mentioned, we have managed to squeeze in bedside tables, but it wasn’t easy as we only had a very small space to work with. I came across the Jax side tables from John Lewis, I’d seen people using them as bedside tables on Instagram in rooms that don’t have a lot of space. And luckily they fit perfectly! I’ve put little rattan basket on them to throw the usual bits like lip balm and chargers in. I’m really pleased with them.
We went with the Solklint range from IKEA for our lamps and pendant light. I think they look gorgeous and are such a bargain! The lamps are £15 each and the pendant light just £22.
Like with Evie’s room we’ve decided to keep the built in wardrobes in our bedroom and just paint them and add new handles. We were going to use Farrow & Ball Calke Green but I think I’ve changed my mind to Windmill Lane from The Little Greene Paint Company, which is a slightly different green. For the walls we have chosen School House White by Farrow & Ball.
On the moodboard I have our rattan headboard from La Redoute, which I only bought last year. But with all the moving about, our existing bed base has broken and needs replacing. So we’re now the proud owners of a pink bed with a scalloped headboard. It was a bargain from Aldi and is absolutely beautiful. Well, it looks it on the photos anyway! We aren’t putting it up until the carpet is down. So our old headboard will be going on eBay.
I think that’s about it for our bedroom. I cannot wait to paint the wardrobes, I think they are going to look amazing. I can’t wait to share the finished room with you, hopefully in just a few weeks.
What do you think to my plans for the master bedroom?
Thank you for reading.
