I’m sure that most of you will remember Swizzels sweets from your childhood, and I bet you all had a favourite. Maybe it was the iconic Love Hearts or maybe Drumstick lollies? Swizzels might conjure up that childhood nostalgia but sweets definitely aren’t just for the kids! Us grown ups can definitely enjoy them too! Swizzels now sell a great range of gifts suitable for people of all ages, perfect if you’re looking for a gift that’s just that little bit different. How about as an alternative Easter gift for those of us who aren’t big chocolate fans?
Swizzels was founded by two families all the way back in 1928. They started out in London but were forced to relocate to the Peak District due to the bombing during World War 2. This move was intended to be temporary but they never moved back. And they’ve been making their iconic sweets from their Derbyshire factory ever since.
“Over all of these years, we have taken a pride in ensuring that our sweets have always tasted fantastic. That remains the case, of course. Maybe that’s the reason why we won the Queen’s Award to Industry for Export Achievement, have been visited by the Late Diana Princess of Wales, had Love Hearts included in the Millennium Dome as an icon of the 20th century, and why we are today one of the biggest employers in the region.”
Swizzels originally launched their online shop back in 2001. It’s changed over the years but now you’ll find all of your favourite Swizzels sweets, as well as some great gifts such as sweet hampers, giant sweet tubs and gift wrapped packs.
You can even personalise your Swizzels sweet hamper to add that personal touch to your gift. Swizzels also offer personalised Love Hearts which are perfect for party bags or even as wedding favours.
My favourite Swizzels sweets have got to be Parma Violets, I know they are a little bit marmite and you either love them or hate them. But I personally love them and they take me right back to my childhood whenever I eat them. What do you think to Parma Violets? Yes or no? I’m also partial to a Drumstick and a Double Dip. Yum!
