TIPS FOR CREATING THE PERFECT BOO BASKET

*Sponsored post with Very.co.uk*

As summer draws to a close, many of us are starting to think about cosy season and one of my favourite things to do as October approaches is to create a boo basket. Whether it’s for your partner, a friend or your child, there’s lots of ways to get creative and really personalised their boo basket to them.

Read on for my tips on creating the perfect boo basket for cosy season…

What is a boo basket?

A boo basket is essentially a basket filled with halloween and autumn goodies. It’s the perfect gift for anyone who loves cosy season and the ‘ber’ months. You can of course go more spooky with your basket, or lean more towards a cosy night in themed basket, or a mixture of the two like I have. You can really personalised your basket to the recipient.

Getting started

The first thing you will need to do is to choose a basket, which may seem straight forward but it’s important that you choose one that is going to be big enough to fit everything in. Don’t make the mistake of going too small! Start with a rough idea of what you might want to put in your boo basket, a number of items and their rough size will help with choosing the right basket.

I opted for this beautiful scalloped edge storage basket from Very.co.uk. It’s a good size at 37cm and I love that this can be used for storage after it’s been used for my boo basket.

What to put in your boo basket

I decided to go for a mix of halloween bits, homeware and gifts for her in my basket. The star of the show has to be the gorgeous pumpkin blanket, it is so soft and cosy. I can’t wait to snuggle in it when the weather gets colder, it really is the perfect blanket for cosy season.

I also picked out this amazing light up haunted mansion decoration which I will pop on my fireplace, I just know my kids will love it. Very.co.uk has an amazing range of halloween decorations to choose from, no matter your style, there’s something to suit everyone.

Some other ideas for things to put in your boo basket are;

  • Candles
  • Chocolate, sweets or popcorn
  • A blanket
  • Halloween decorations
  • Jewellery
  • Pyjamas or a dressing gown
  • Slippers
  • A book
  • Home decor pieces
  • Gift card
  • Hot chocolate
  • A halloween themed mug

Boo baskets for children

If you’re making a boo basket for your kids there are some really cute ideas to make it special. Of course it depends somewhat on the age of your child and their interests but there are some things that you really can’t go wrong with. A blanket, as with an adult boo basket is always a winner. A soft toy, perhaps a skeleton or a ghost would be a cute addition. Sweets, chocolate or popcorn to use for a spooky themed movie night. And my personal favourite thing to add to a kids boo basket is a halloween book. There’s lots of fantastic ones available that your children will love.

I hope that you enjoyed reading. Do you have any more boo basket ideas to add?

Thank you for reading.
