September is fast approaching and that can only mean one thing… back to school! It’s always best to be prepared but let’s be honest, I think most of us end up leaving school uniforms shopping until the last couple of weeks of the holidays, don’t we? Which means it’s even more important to be able to get everything you need from one place, and that’s where Very.co.uk comes in…
Evie is getting ready to start year 8, and she’s growing so fast! So of course most of her uniform needed replacing. Thankfully Very.co.uk had us covered and we were able to get everything we needed ticked off in one go. Isn’t that just the best feeling? From school shoes to waterproof coats and everything in between, Very.co.uk has it all.

Back to school checklist
Here’s the ultimate back to school checklist to help you feel prepared and ready for September…
Uniform
Of course uniform can vary from school to school and some schools require branded jumpers, cardigans or blazers. But for plain, unbranded uniform, Very has a great selection including jumpers and cardigans in various school colours.
You will also find trousers, skirts, shirts and polo tops to suit your requirements. The Everyday Schoolwear range provides quality uniform at great prices. Plus the 100 day satisfaction guarantee means you can return any uniform if you’re not completely satisfied with it within 100 days. Which is the peace of mind us mums need.

Stationary and equipment
This one is particularly important for secondary school aged children. You will usually receive a kit list from your child’s school which will include things such as highlighter pens, a ruler, an eraser, a pencil sharpener and of course a pencil case. Top tip – buy extras as these things will inevitably get misplaced throughout the school year. And being told at 8am on a Monday morning that they’ve lost their ruler is not the best way to start the week…
Shoes
Very.co.uk has a brilliant range of school shoes available for kids of all ages. I was blown away by the choice of brands and styles. After browsing the girls school shoes we opted for a pair of black Adidas Gazelle trainers which are comfortable for the walk to and from school, yet smart at the same time. Other shoe brands available include Clarks, Kickers, Lelli Kelly and River Island.

PE kit
You’ll find everything you need for your little ones school PE kit at Very.co.uk. With a wide range of trainers and sportswear available.
Bag
A bag is an essential for all school aged children. Even in primary school they will need to carry their lunch and bring home reading books etc. But of course a bag is even more important during secondary school. A good quality, hard wearing bag that is big enough to fit everything in is so important. I’m sure we can all remember back to the days when we had PE and food tech on the same day, so much stuff to carry around! We chose this Polo Ralph Lauren backpack for Evie. It’s a great size and amazing quality. I know it will last a long time.

Lunch bag and bottle
As well as a lunch bag, a water bottle is an essential for all school children whether they plan to have packed lunches or not. A good quality one that doesn’t leak is very important. Also make sure to put a name label on it as they do have a habit of getting lost.
Coat
Although a big winter coat might not be needed just yet, it’s always good to be prepared. We picked out a Zavetti Canada coat for Evie. It’s really thick and cosy with it’s fur trimmed hood. It will see her right through the winter months.

Are you ready for the back to school chaos yet?
Thank you for reading.
