I love autumn, the colours are just beautiful and I’m a big fan of autumn clothes, layers, knitwear, hats, scarfs, I love it all! Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like the cold weather and summer is always going to be my favourite season but autumn is close second as it’s not yet too cold.
Me and Evie headed out for a walk around our local park on Friday and it was the first time that it actually looked and felt like autumn. The weather felt quite cool, the leaves were starting to change colour on the trees and some had started to fall to the ground, it looked so pretty. There’s something quite satisfying about walking through leaves and hearing them crunch under your feet.
While we were in the park I noticed some conkers, Evie had her little bag with her so we started collecting them. It really took me back to my childhood, I remember going to that exact same spot in the park and collecting conkers each year.
A lady who was also collecting conkers came up to us and asked if Evie would like some of hers as she had collected loads. I thought that was so sweet of her. It always makes me smile when strangers do kind things like that when they really didn’t need to and it made Evie’s day!
We had a lovely morning. Here are some photos I snapped while we were there…

Me & Miss H have been out collecting conkers! I love changing seasons 🙂 #TheOrdinaryMoments x
I love Autumn! Searching for conkers is so much fun, such a simple thing that brings them such happiness X #theordinarymoments
We spent Saturday in much the same way, though I think you’ve got a better haul than we did, ours were all a bit past it, but we found some hiding in the long grass; enough to stuff their coat pockets and keep everyone happy! I’ve been making them into bunting today (blog post on which hopefully to follow sometime this week) so we have conkers strung up to remind us of the season 🙂
Ah lovely photos, I too am an autumn fan (after summer) and have been enjoying all the best of autumn but it’s still been quite warm so best of both worlds!
Lovely pictures! We will try and collect some conkers next weekend. I have found some brilliant crafty ideas on Pinterest that I really want to try out.
Emma these pics are gorgeous and really capture autumn well. Looks like a great day and ordinary moment of childhood. Its this stuff we look forward to doing every yr, my kids went hunting for conkers on sunday afternoon with Grandma, I love how they treat them like treasure! x
