A couple of weeks ago, me and James were invited along to The Lost & Found here in Sheffield to try their food and drinks. It’s somewhere we hadn’t been to before but had heard good things about, so we were eager to try it out for ourselves.
The Lost & Found is located in the heart of Sheffield, on Ecclesall Road. They offer a range of seasonal dishes and creative cocktails. Mythical professor of horticulture and conservationist, Victoria B Darcy, is the inspiration behind the restaurant and bar, where hidden doors lead to secret gardens and a fantasy world of flora and fauna. From her opinions on the up-keep of parks, to turning the industrial landscape into beautiful gardens, she was most certainly ahead of her time with these new ideas. Wherever you see wild flowers or a beautiful park within the City of Sheffield, you can think of Victoria B. Darcy.
“Pushing the boundaries of discovery, lose yourself in a whimsical world of molecular mixology and seasonal cuisine at The Lost & Found. Come on in and satisfy all your drinking and dining needs as you uncover the unique depths of each of our professors Victorian hideaways, all whilst recalling the glamour of bygone eras. Discover and you shall find…”
Both the interior and exterior at The Lost & Found are beautiful. As soon as I set eyes on the flowers draped over the door I knew I was going to love this place! There is a strong botanical theme at The Lost & Found which links back to Victoria B Darcy. I absolutely love all of the greenery, the elegant lighting and furniture.
For our starter me and James decided to go for the antipasti sharer (£18), which includes cured meats, Italian olives, pickled gherkins, marinated mozzarella and toasted sourdough. This was absolutely amazing and I’m still dreaming about it now.
For mains, we both decided to go for steak. I had the 8oz flattened rump steak which was served with garlic butter and skinny fries (£16). James opted for the 8oz sirloin steak served with confit tomato and peppercorn sauce (Béarnaise sauce or garlic butter also available) (£18). Both of which were delicious!

Our desserts were incredible. I had the white chocolate & raspberry ‘eton mess’ which is vanilla cream, fresh raspberries, raspberry meringue and raspberry sorbet (£7.50). Just look at it…
James had the dark chocolate & peanut butter parfait with caramelised banana and caramel sauce (£7) which I am told was also delicious, it certainly looked it…
We also sampled a couple of cocktails while we were there. Well it would have been rude not to! I had a margarita and a blossom fizz, which was really fruity and refreshing. Cocktails are priced at £5 each Monday – Friday 5pm – 8pm.

We had a great evening at The Lost & Found and would highly recommend it to anyone who is local. Whether it’s for a date night meal or just a few drinks with friends, it’s the perfect spot. I don’t think there’s anything at all that I didn’t like about our visit. The service was excellent, decor was amazing, our food was delicious, as were the cocktails. Thank you so much to The Lost & Found for inviting us, we will definitely be back.
Have you been to The Lost & Found yet? If so, what did you think?
