On Thursday me, Evie and my sister Katie spent the day in London. Well, I say the day but we didn’t actually get there until 10:45am and our train home was at 3pm, so it was only really a few hours! But a day well spent, never the less.
Me and Evie were there for the Mothercare SS17 press show and my sister went and did some shopping while we were there. After that we made a quick visit to the huge Lush on Oxford Street (which is AMAZING) and then it was time to grab some lunch and make our way back to the train station.
For a lot of people attending events in London is pretty normal but it definitely isn’t for me. I’ve been to a few events locally but this was the first one in London so it was a bit daunting but it was great, I’m so glad I went.
My anxiety did however very nearly stop me from going, on the tram on the way to the train station I could feel myself getting more and more panicky, I was on the verge of tears and had to stop myself from turning around and going back home. Luckily that feeling slowly passed and by the time we got to London I was fine.
I really do feel so proud of myself for pushing myself to go. My amazing husband knew how hard it was for me to do so he had the house all tidy, bathroom cleaned and a bunch of flowers waiting for me when I got home, I don’t know what I’d do without him!
It was a day of firsts for Evie, her first trip to London, first proper train journey, first time on the tube. She behaved brilliantly at the Mothercare event and on the train, and did loads of walking without complaining once and I’m so proud of her.
A very successful day all in all! Anxiety 0 – Me 1…
