Oral health is one of the most essential yet overlooked aspects of preventive health care. Often, a visit to the dentist is put off until the schedule allows it. Jaw Pain

One of the most common and pressing reasons that require a visit to an emergency dentist is a toothache. The presence of toothaches should not be ignored. Individuals should not mask the pain by simply taking pain relievers. The dentist needs to assess and identify what’s causing the pain. It could be an abscess, a cavity, a damaged filling, or a broken tooth. Dentists can address the root cause and advise how to prevent it from happening again in the future. 

Often, these signs become apparent when the tooth damage is already severe. For this reason, it is important to see the dentist regularly, even in the absence of the signs mentioned above. It would also be useful to follow these tips to keep your oral health in check:

  • Brush your teeth twice a day. Spend at least two minutes each brushing time. Ideally you should use a whitening toothpaste to ensure your teeth stay healthy and looking their best.
