Today marks two whole years since I started my blog. In some ways it feels like I’ve always been a blogger but at the same time I can’t believe it’s been two years already! Blogging is something that started off as a hobby for me, and I guess it still is. I still blog for myself, take photos and record our days out and travels for our own memories. But I am so grateful that this little space has turned into my job too. Over the past year things have really taken off for me and I now earn a decent income from my blog which really is a dream come true.
I love that my blog encourages me to improve my photography because photography is something I am very passionate about. I think my photography has improved a lot since I first started out two years ago and actually even just over the last 12 months I can see an improvement. It’s something I’m always looking to get better at and I am hoping to do a photography course later this year.
During the past year I made a few changes to my blog. Emma Plus Three started out almost as an autism blog, because that’s what we were going through at the time but I have stepped away from that now, apart from maybe the occasional post. I also made the decision to move more toward lifestyle rather than a parenting blog and wanted to create more fashion content. This is something that I haven’t found particularly easy, I guess that’s because my children are of course a huge part of my life and I find I still end up writing about them without even realising I’m doing it. I am going to continue to head in the lifestyle direction though as I am very aware that one day my children may not want their faces all my blog.

Achievements
This year I’ve been lucky enough to work with some fantastic brands such as Joanie Clothing, Green People, Bobux, Pretty Little Thing, Jojo Maman Bebe, Lighthouse, Peacocks, Gap, Cox & Cox, Arla, Pizza Express and many more. We’ve had some great family days out thanks to National Trust, English Heritage and Dreamland Margate. And amazingly we’ve been on family holidays with Butlins, Bluestone Wales and Sherwood Hideaway which we are so grateful for. Oh and not forgetting that I had my teeth whitened thanks to Centre for Dentistry, which is something I’ve wanted to have done for years!
I am currently ranked 213 in the Tots100 chart of parenting blogs. This is out of around 8,000 I believe, so not too bad at all! I have been at 148 at my best but tend to hover around the 200 mark, which I am happy with.
Going forward…
Over the next year, aside from continuing with the move towards more lifestyle content I pretty much plan to carry on as I am. I hope to work with more amazing brands and create content that I am proud of. I am making a real effort with my YouTube channel this year too and plan to upload twice a week (Wednesday and Sunday) so head over and subscribe if you haven’t already.
So here’s to another year of blogging and hopefully many more to come. A massive thank you to everyone who has read, liked, commented and shared over the past year. It means so much.
Thank you for reading.
